Thank you for your interest in the coordinator role.  There are two possibilities to engage:

Be a coordinator (help others!) – help your community get safe, hygienic produce. Help farmers sustain their livelihoods. Have opportunity to earn yourself.

Help us identify coordinators (create livelihoods!) –  connect to people that would be good community coordinators, this is a great livelihood opportunity for those having difficulty earning during times

Desired Profile

Community coordinators should fit the following profile:
• Have good connections to local community
• Can aggregate bulk orders (target >30 orders, however if lesser orders, we can explore connecting with other coordinators)
• Take orders and manage payments
• Receive deliveries and coordinate with consumers to get them their orders


As an overview, produce is individually packed and sealed in a hygienic box with extra care taken to ensure quality and minimize handling. Boxes are delivered according to pre-orders to community coordinators who coordinate with consumers to receive the box. This is done to ensure order fulfillment, economic feasibility for the farmers , and maximum adherence to social distancing norms.

How do I get started?

What does a community coordinator do? What are the criteria to be a community coordinator?

A community coordinator gets bulk orders from customers, coordinates with farmer groups for delivery and temporary storage (if necessary), collects and distributes payment, and coordinates with customers for order pickup.

Are there any benefits for a community coordinator?

I am willing to be a community coordinator, however, I do not know how to get orders from my community, can you help me?

Yes, we will do our best to provide you support. Although we cannot guarantee that you will be able to get orders, we will provide training and initial handholding to help you out. Contact us for more information.

What are the fruits and vegetables I will be selling?

Fruits and vegetable selection and prices change according to season and market conditions. Get in touch and we will share more information.

What if I am not in Mumbai or Pune?

Currently, we are only arranging deliveries to Mumbai and Pune, however, if you are from another location, please get in touch anyway and we will keep you updated as we expand the platform.

What if a customer is not satisfied with the order?

We work hard to ensure that farmer groups provide the highest quality produce, however, in the rare event that there are quality issues your first point of contact will be with the farmer group that delivered the product. If there are still issues, you can contact us and we will do our best to help.

Will I be an employee of Farm to Consumer?

You will be your own entrepreneur! In addition, Farm to Consumer itself is not a registered legal entity. We are a collaborative initiative between several stakeholders working to benefit farmers and consumers.

How do I handle payments with the farmer group / customers?

Payment modes will be decided between you and the customers / farmer groups. The preferred current form of payment is electronic (UPI, NEFT, IMPS) in order to maximize hygiene and safety.
